What a crazy time in the world we are living in. At the time of this blog post publishing, the world is in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this many places like parks, movie theaters, and gyms are closed. Restaurants are take-out or drive-thru only. This makes at-home date night ideas an important part of your plans in order to keep things lively.
Even before the pandemic my husband, Steven, and I had a weekly at-home date night. Due to our budget, we needed to be creative and cheap. Every Friday Night we plan a date for after our baby goes to bed.
I have put together a freebie for you that plans out your date nights for the next 2 months. Click download below to get your freebie.

At-Home Date Night Ideas
Movie & Snacks
You can never go wrong with watching a movie together for an easy at-home date night. Nothing is better than cuddling up next to your spouse on the couch. When I have a Redbox coupon we rent a new movie we haven’t seen before, but if I don’t we choose a movie from a streaming site like Netflix or Hulu. We pop a bag of popcorn to eat and enjoy the show.
Pizza Picnic
Who doesn’t love pizza? You can do any kind of pizza you want! We either buy a Little Ceaser’s pizza or make our own. Lay down a blanket in your living room and eat your pizza together on the floor. Talk and flirt with each other.
Strip Poker
Need I say more? It is fun and sex is a crucial part of a marriage. This is an at-home date night idea that can be totally customizable and something you can both have fun with.
Card Games
There are only a few card games that are still fun with only two players. One of those games is Monopoly Deal. It is a super fun, fast-paced version of Monopoly. Uno is also another game that can be fun with only two players. Whenever we play card games we always have a snack like popcorn or chips.
Crafts
We have done so many crafts together. Most of our home decor was something we made together from a previous at-home date night. A few years ago we bought a wooden ‘S’, ‘&’ and ‘C’ that we painted to hang above our bed in our bedroom. This can usually end up being a great time to make memories together.
Exercise
Even though gyms are closed you can still work out. We work out every night, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be an at-home date night for us. There are plenty of YouTube videos to choose from to work out too. We have done some yoga and dancing workouts. After working out you can both make a smoothie or protein shake to have afterwords.
Spa Night
Who doesn’t love to be pampered? You can give each other a spa night or do it together. Steven and I like to do it together for our at-home date night. We put on a relaxing playlist on Spotify, light a candle and put on a face mask, and relax. Give each other a massage with lotion and just enjoy being together. Massages also have a way to lead to other things. 😉
Nintendo Switch (video games)
One of our favorite things to do is to play a video game together. We bought a Nintendo Switch a few months after we got married and it has been one of the best purchases we have made. Steven didn’t grow up playing video games and never really had a chance to unless he was at a friend’s house, while I grew up playing video games with my family. Our current favorite game to play is SniperClips. We also like Mario Kart.
Date Night on a budget (or in quarantine) doesn’t have to be hard! It can be fun even though you are staying indoors.
