Welcome To Knock On Motherhood

Welcome, I’m Courtney.

A Preeclampsia Survivor, Advocate, and Preemie Mom.

In May 2019 I survived Preeclampsia with Severe Features. I have overcome many challenges along the way and I am proud of the woman I have become because of my experiences.

Knock On Motherhood Blog

I have always found power in writing. It has given me a voice and allowed me to give others a voice. Our lives aren’t perfect and you will see that in my blog posts. But you can find strength from mine and others’ experiences and hope if you have ever gone through preeclampsia or another type of birth trauma.

Knock On Parenthood Podcast

In late 2021 my husband, Steven, and I started a podcast. We chat with professionals and parents alike trying to make a difference in the modern parenting world.

Here’s Why You Can Benefit From My Content

  • You may be a mother or a father that went through a traumatic birth experience. That can be hard and unfamiliar territory to navigate yourself. I want to help you find the community support that you need. My Instagram is where I am most active, follow me to stay up to date.
  • You may need a real story to relate to or see how an experience played out for someone else. Whatever it is I want to bring that comfort and solace to you, because I was once in your shoes. Check out my collection of survivor interviews I hope you find someone to relate to.
  • You may have a loved one who is going through a traumatic birth and or a NICU stay. It can be hard to know how to comfort them. I lay out what you need to know about the NICU in this informative post for friends and family.
  • Or you just want to hear what I have to say about my experience as a mother. In which case I would encourage you to follow me on Instagram and sign up for my email list.

What Knock On Motherhood does for you

  • I work hard to make your life as a mother as easy as possible. I love sharing my experience with you about things that have helped me. One big thing that has helped was sleep training. I encourage you to read my review of the Taking Cara Babies Sleep course and my answers to many questions you may have about the course.
  • I have also spent time organizing a list of the top Instagram accounts for new moms to follow. It can be a hassle to figure out who to follow when there are so many to follow. In my list, I break the accounts down into categories that you should check out.
