I have a daughter going into kindergarten in the fall and searched high and low for the best books to prepare for kindergarten. She has been to preschool before, but this will be the first time she’s away from home during the day as long as she will be.

Kisses for Kindergarten is one of the books to read before kindergarten. It is a story about Stella Isabella Harden and her puppy Buster spending the day together learning and making up lessons. This is a cute story that rhymes and talks about not wanting to go to kindergarten but how kindergarten can be fun.
This is another one of the books to read before kindergarten. It’s a cute story based on The Night Before Christmas and how kids prepare to go to the first day of kindergarten. It is an Amazon Best Seller book and can easily be found at libraries.
Mae’s First Day of School is a cute story about a girl named Mae who is scared about going to school and says she won’t go. She meets another kid who doesn’t want to go to school either and then later a teacher who doesn’t want to go to school. They all eventually decide to be brave together and go to school. It is a cute story about how it can be scary to go to school and you might not want to go. But you can be brave and go to school. This book is one of the must-read books to read before kindergarten
This is another one of the books to read before kindergarten. May’s Brave Day is a book about a girl named May who has butterflies in her tummy about going to school. Her mom talks to her about how everyone gets nervous even birds who need to learn how to fly. It’s a great book that talks about how it is okay to be nervous starting school and you can be brave.
One of the last books to read before kindergarten is written by the same author of The Invisible String. The character uses tools in her backpack to help her not feel so nervous. Starting school is scary but exciting at the same time. It teaches that it is okay to be scared and there are ways to help you when you feel scared.
There are many other great books to read before kindergarten. These 5 are my absolute favorite books to read before kindergarten and have been read on repeat throughout the summer. Books are one of my favorite tools to explain feelings and concepts to my kids. Books have a way of engaging them and opening up a conversation.
