If you are anything like me you need to have a support system. Sometimes support isn’t always immediately available in person. So I turned to Instagram, and…

I researched everything.

As soon as I got pregnant with my daughter I went digging through Instagram to find accounts that I could follow. Some were great, but some were not so much. So I made this list of top Instagram accounts for new moms to follow so you don’t have to spend as much time as I did finding the good ones.

Here is a great place to start when looking for accounts to follow. Have fun looking through each account and finding what best suits you. Everyone’s experiences are different, for me, I went through a traumatic birth experience. This list isn’t tailored to me though it is tailored to any and all new moms whatever your experience is. If you want a list tailored to birth trauma and preemie babies let me know, and I may make a list on that in the future.

Pregnancy lasts up to 9 months, and in that time a lot can happen. You may feel as though your first trimester is great, but your second or third trimester hit you hard. I know in my case things started to go downhill around 32 weeks. It is important that you are able to have this online support system that constantly provides you with the information that you need.

This account is dedicated to helping you have a positive birth experience. They have multiple classes that you can get a glimpse of from their Instagram account. As a mother or a partner, the positive and uplifting messages can really help you on your journey to become a parent.

Following mother’s health Instagram accounts allows you to be prepared and on the lookout for anything that could be affecting your physical and mental health. Sometimes even the pros make mistakes so don’t feel bad about things in your journey that went wrong. There are many others who have made the mistakes or studied the mistakes that you can learn from.

Liesel is a Labor & Delivery Nurse and a mom. She shares informative and helpful infographics about pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. If you ever wanted to know anything about what your body is experiencing or will experience she is a great resource.

Top Baby’s Sleep Instagram Accounts For New Moms To Follow

Baby sleep Instagram accounts provide a vast variety of strategies, tips, and implementations that have worked for so many others. Although some of these accounts have some differing views about methodology, like co-sleeping, I wanted to include them so you have the option to look through them for yourself. Sleep training can be a hard thing to navigate, but I know you will get through it.

This Instagram account saved my sanity. Cara teaches how to read newborn cues. Cara is a former NICU nurse and a mom. I took her Newborn class which taught me how to put my baby down drowsy. My daughter slept through the night regularly once she was 6 months old. I actually had the opportunity to take the newborn sleep course and it kept me sane as I was trying to navigate motherhood. Dr. Mona is a board-certified pediatrician and a new mom who shares lots of good information. She shares about when to call your doctor about fevers, common sicknesses in kids, and how to treat them at home (when a doctor isn’t needed).

From speech to occupational therapy, these accounts have activities that will help your parenthood be more fun and helpful too.

Brooke and Bridget are speech therapists. They share tips and tricks to help your baby with their language development. Language development starts from the beginning and they share how to best nurture it.

My last category is about how important it is to know how, what, and when to adjust your baby’s feeding habits. While you can’t always control what a baby or toddler likes to eat, you can control their diet. Nutrition for a baby is right up there in importance with sleep. Your baby will grow based on their genetics and the amount of food they can get. Make sure your child gets what they need with the information from these accounts.

I create relatable content for mothers who didn’t have the ideal birth experience. I share my experience with preeclampsia and the struggles that came with that. From birth trauma to accepting the fact that I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed my daughter Cora, I share how my experiences shaped me.  

My husband and I host the Knock On Parenthood podcast where we share our experiences along with the advice from the professionals that we interview for you. Our goal is to talk about the ins and outs of being a parent so you can succeed in your journey.
