Everything I Used the Babies First Year: For Clothing & Hygiene

This is the fourth post of my new series of Everything I Used the Babies First Year. My last post was published a few weeks ago and it was all about all the products I used for feeding. For all the toys and books I used, click here to read. If you missed my first post about all the products I used for sleep you can click here to read.

I’m a sucker for products that make my life easier.

I love to browse Amazon and add products I want or need to list. My favorite kind of products are ones that make life with a baby easier. I have been working on this series for a while now really thinking about everything I used during the babies first year. I have put together a list of every single product I used during the first year of Cora’s life.

Today I will be sharing all the products I used for clothing and hygiene the babies first year.

This post was hard. Because in all honestly most of the clothes Cora wears I have gotten from Facebook Marketplace, second-hand shops like Once Upon a Child, or have been gifted. I buy very few things new, so all the clothes I share below are actually ones I have gotten new from Amazon. In the next few weeks, I will share even more products that I used for the babies first year. I also will be sharing a blog post about my experience with Taking Cara Babies. Be sure to subscribe to my email list to get notified about my new posts.

Everything I Used for Clothing

Simple Joys by Carter's Girls' 6-Pack Short-Sleeve Bodysuit

My favorite brand of onesies is Carter’s. I think they fit super well and also last a long time. The only time I’ve had to throw out a Carter onesie is when there was a stain on it that I couldn’t get out.

Simple Joys by Carter's Baby and Toddler Girls' 3-Pack Snug Fit Footed Cotton Pajamas

These fleece pajamas from Carter’s are my favorite. I think they are the best fit and keep Cora warm. We live in Idaho so it is cold at night for about 8 months out of the year. She wears fleece pajamas a lot and I have 7 pairs of them.

How cute are these socks?! I loved putting these on Cora before she could walk and was wearing shoes. Because they looked like shoes! My mom bought these for me.

Baby Bows– I LOVE these baby bows! They come in every color I would ever need. The Nylon headband is super stretchy so it fits my now 18 month old comfortably.

Everything I Used for Hygeine

My favorite types of hairbrushes for both babies first year and toddlers are ones with soft bristles and a wooden handle. Like this one.

When picking out a washcloth for your baby, you want to make sure you choose one that is soft. I like these ones.

With Cora’s sensitive skin, this Aveeno Baby is the only soap & shampoo that doesn’t bother her. It comes in a big bottle, so it lasts a long time.

My favorite brand of baby lotion is Dove. Cora got unlucky and got my super sensitive skin. Baby Dove is the only brand of lotion that doesn’t bother her. I also like Baby Dove the best because the formula is very thick, but doesn’t make the skin feel oily.

My favorite brand of diapers for a long time was Huggies Little Snugglers. They fit the best on Cora and also I never had a leak. My only complaint about Huggies is the price. About 6 months ago, I gave the Target store brand of diapers a try. I ended up loving them just as much as Huggies! I use the Target brand now.

One of my best friends told me about boogie wipes when Cora had her first cold. And they are heaven-sent. These wipes make cleaning out babies’ noses so dang easy.

I loved this finger toothbrush from fridababy before she got teeth. It makes it simple and easy to clean her gums.

Clipping Cora’s nails give me a heart attack every time. Her fingernails are just so small! I found that these nail clippers from Safety First were the best and easiest for me to hold.

Destin is the absolute best cream for diaper rashes. I put this on a rash and the rash will be gone the next day. It is a thick, white cream so it protects the skin as well as heals it. When Cora was 5 months old, she had a rash that wouldn’t go away. I took her to her doctor and he suggested using Destin and gave me a sample to use. It is gentle enough that with Cora’s sensitive skin it doesn’t bother her.

This is the best baby bath I ever used! Although, I couldn’t use it with Cora until she was about 6 months old because she was so small. She needed to be swaddle bathed until then.

Aquaphor is one of the must-have hygiene products. It can be used on just about everything. I liked using this for diaper rashes because it was gentle on Cora’s skin.

These are the best for long road trips! Or babies that sleep through the night but don’t fit into nighttime diapers. A mom friend I had when Cora was firstborn told me about these. And they helped me so much! Cora started sleeping through the night months before she fit into nighttime diapers so we would put these booster pads in a diaper to make it last through the night.

I used the Pampers brand of wipes for so long. I stuck with it because that is what we used in the NICU and both Cora & I have extremely sensitive skin. I have eczema really bad and get breakouts easily. I have since switched to Target’s brand of sensitive wipes. They work just as great and I get more bang for my buck.

I hope this list of babies first year sleep products helps you in your journey as a mother. Stay up to date with me on our InstagramFacebookPinterest, and subscribing to my email list.
